Pineapple
Pineapple is one of the most valued fruits in the world and is popular in those climate zones where it is not normally grown. This perennial plant prefers drought and grows up to 1.5 – 2.5 m. The fruit itself weighs 0.5 kg – 3.5 kg. Pineapple after picking does not further ripen. Pineapples are consumed fresh, canned, boiled and as extracted juice. Pineapple has a sweet taste, but beyond that, it is also a healthy food. It is rich in vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre.
